2014 Operations

Due to recent heavy snowfall this past week, we have suspended our Cameron Express Daily Shuttle until trail conditions improve.

CAMERON EXPRESS   SHUTTLE DEPARTURE TIME NOW 9 :00 AM

The Cameron Express shuttle provides hikers a convenient service to access Cameron Lake and the varied activity options available along the Akamina Parkway. Cameron Express ShuttleIt is most commonly used to access the world famous Carthew-Alderson Trail, Waterton’s true alpine adventure. The Cameron Express shuttle is also a good way to access the Akamina-Kishenena for an exhilarating bike ride through the forest before cruising back to town via the Akamina Parkway on your own two wheels.

Reservations are required for hikers and especially for mountain bikers. We have a maximum capacity of 6 bikes.  We begin taking reservations for the season on May 1.

Cameron Express shuttles operates from the beginning of June (weather and trail condition dependant) to Sept 3rd.  Departure time is 8:30 am.

From Sept 3rd to Sept 30th the Cameron Express shuttle departs at 9:00 am.

Cost is CAD $13.50 per person.

Cameron Express departures at other times are available as a custom shuttle departure. Custom shuttle prices are CAD $60 to run (covers a maximum of four passengers) and CAD $13.50/person for each additional passenger.

CHIEF MOUNTAIN SHUTTLE

Achieving the logistics necessary for starting or finishing your backpacking adventures in Waterton-Glacier can sometimes be tricky. Our Chief Mountain shuttle is here to help. Chief Mountain ShuttleThis shuttle assists hikers who are returning or dropping off their vehicle at the Belly River trailhead parking area on the US side of the border. The shuttle also connects hikers to points beyond in Glacier Park, using a shuttle connection on the American side of the Chief Mountain border crossing.

From June 8th to Sept 22nd scheduled Chief Mountain shuttles will depart from the Tamarack in Waterton at 2:30 pm, arriving at the Chief Mountain border crossing (Canadian parking lot) at approximately 3 pm. The GPI East Side Shuttle picks up at the border at 3:45 pm.

It is CAD $20/person for the Chief Mountain shuttle. Reservations are necessary.  We begin taking reservations May 1.

TAMARACK TRAIL SHUTTLE

The Tamarack Trail is Waterton’s most popular backpacking route, taking you on an adventure to high ridges, alpine larch forest and paralleling the Continental Divide. We can facilitate your Tamarack Trail plans with our shuttle by the same name.Tamarack Trail Shuttle

For southbound travellers, leave your vehicle at the Rowe Lakes trailhead and we will pick you up there and deliver you to your starting point at Red Rock Canyon.

From June 1st to Sept 3rd , pick up at the Rowe Lakes trailhead will be at 9:10 am by our Cameron Express Shuttle,  with a drop at Red Rock Canyon at 10 am.

For northbound travellers, leave your vehicle at the Red Rock Canyon parking lot and we will pick you up there and deliver you to your starting point at the Rowe Lakes trailhead.

From June 1st to Sept 3rd , pick up at the Red Rock Canyon will be at 8:00 am with a drop at the Rowe Lakes trailhead at 8:50 am.

It is CAD $60 for the Tamarack Trail shuttle (covers a maximum of two passengers) and CAD $20/ person for each additional passenger.

Reservations are necessary.  We begin taking reservations May 1.
