*FEATURE HIKE* Carthew Summit Adventure

Waterton’s true, high alpine adventure along the Carthew-Alderson Trail. Experience a full cross section of the Border Range in Canada’s southern Rocky Mountains with panoramic views of the “Crown of the Continent”. Climb to the top of this windswept mountain pass to enjoy alpine wildflowers, incredible views and the exhilaration of the alpine.

Distance: 20 km(12mi).

Elevation Gain/Loss: 670 m(2100 ft)/1000m(3300ft).

*NEW THIS SEASON* Trail Running Experience

Do you like to view the mountain scenery at a little faster of a pace?  This trip is for you!  Join one of our experienced guides and run on some of the most beautiful trails in the Canadian Rockies.  Easy/Moderate to Difficult levels available.

$40 per person ($80 minimum fee)

Where the Mountains Meet the Prairies

This uncrowded route really illustrates what makes Waterton Lakes unique among Canadian National Parks. Over the 10.5 km of this trip you will be introduced to aspen forest, prairie grasslands and the eastern slopes of the Rocky Mountains. Along the way you have an excellent opportunity to view bison, coyote and occasionally bears. Wildflowers of the mountains and prairies surround you with colour as you travel back to the Waterton townsite.

Distance: 10.5 km.

Elevation Gain/Loss: 125 m(410 ft).

This activity is only offered in early and late season.  May, June & September

Day Trek (8-10 hours)

Looking for a full day trek in Waterton? Full day activities include Akamina Ridge, Lineham Peak, Crypt Lake*, Vimy Peak, Avion Ridge.

$95.00 per person.   ($285 minimum fee)

Day Hike (5-8 hours)

  Our standard full day hiking adventure.  Day hikes include Bertha Lake, Upper Rowe Lake, Goat Lake, Lineham Falls and Ridge.

$80.00 per person.  ($240 minimum fee)

Light Adventure (3-4 hours)

Need to get a Waterton hiking sampler? Try one of our half day adventures. Includes Bertha Falls, Lower Rowe, Crandell Lake, Wall Lake and Bears Hump.

$50.00 per person.  ($150 minimum fee)

Upgrades

Hikers Lunches
You have limited time to play in Waterton and a full schedule.  Let us get your lunch ready for the trail.  Take your pick off our Hikers Lunch menu and it will be waiting for you when you arrive to start your day!  $15/lunch.

Crown of the Continent Premium Upgrade
Waterton lies in the Crown of the Continent, a geographical pinnacle in the area.  Our upgrade is the pinnacle of hiking experiences.  Your choice of lunch from our Hikers Lunch menu and essential, unique hiking accessory.  $35/person

Additional Information

Prices quoted are in Canadian Dollars, and do not include federal tax (GST) of 5% or appropriate tips and gratuities for your guide services.  For larger groups of more than 8 people, a 10 % per person discount in available.  For organizations with larger groups that require multiple hiking dates, please inquire about our Key Partner Program for pricing.

For all activities, hikers lunches and transportation can be arranged for an additional fee.

General recommended items required for any activity include: Daypack (20 – 30L volume), sturdy comfortable hiking footwear, water for the activity (usually 2L is sufficient), warm hat, sun hat, gloves or mitts, rainwear, light warm layers, lunch. Synthetic or wool layers are recommended for clothing layers. Cotton is not recommended.

Additional items you may choose to bring include: Sunscreen, Insect repellant, camera, binoculars, trekking poles, gaiters, spare pair of socks.

Please remember to bring any specific personal medications that may be necessary for you or your group members. You will be required to sign a waiver of liability prior to the activity at which time it is important that you disclose any medical, physical or otherwise conditions and prescribed medications to your guide.

Our guides always carry bear repellent, water filter, first aid kit and an emergency communication device.

RESERVATIONS, DEPOSITS, AND REFUND POLICY

Advance reservations can be booked starting April 1 of each year. Full payment required at time of reservation. Payment information will be detailed on your Reservation Confirmation form and/or invoice. Visa and Mastercard accepted.

Any changes to the original reservation must be received at least 48 hours prior to the activity departure to receive refund.  Last minute activity changes or cancellations are subject to loss of priority status and forfeiture of 25% of fee.

All fees are non-refundable unless the trip has been cancelled by Waterton Outdoor Adventures management for reasons of weather, area closures, emergencies, illness etc.
